A Basic Grammar Error in The State

On Thursday, Aaron Gould Sheinin writes:

But that’s not even the real fireworks.

In English, the plural object "fireworks" would call for the to-be verb are and the demonstrative those. Written correctly, the sentence reads:

But those aren't even the real fireworks.

Some might accuse ol' Mr. Smith of nitpicking and being overly critical here. Maybe they're right. Maybe I should focus on substance. What if I were to point out that the "chaos" that "reigned" in the Republican primary lasted somewhat less than 72 hours?

That's some insightful reporting there, Mr. Sheinin.

you know, it's not his fault the sentence was incorrect - it could have been hastily changed by a copy editor, and even if the sentence was his, the final burden of correct grammar falls on the copy desk, not the reporters

Maybe you should focus on SUBSTANCE...what substance? This is "thestate" newspaper. There ain't no stinking substance. Fritz

Did he say: "There ain't no stinking substance." "Fritz" seems to have grammar problems like the ones the host of this site was so "nitpicking" about.

The "stinking substance" must be a reference to the deposits made by "Pork and Barrel" when they pooped all over the Gub'ner and the State House floor.

Folks, that really was "stinking substance." And it was certainly caused by the staff at The State.
Yuck, yuck, yuck.

Time will tell how long the chaos reigns. Checking the Gub'ner's veto record is a good indicator.

Really? Gee whiz. You mean some people on these blogs are full of blog-ogna?

It would take a whole pig farm of "Pork and Barrel" relatives to match the blog-ogna found on this site.

Actually, blog-ogna on white bread is good with mayo, mustard, Cheese Whiz and Texas Pete. You can also add a slice of Vidalia Onion to taste.

Then all you do is treat it like this web site. Ignore what the fat content does to your to your digestive system ans what the onion and Texas Pete do to your breath. Enjoy this site and all of its blog-ogna.

Most of the "blog-ogna" I have read on this site is surrounding by quotation marks, its source being The State's largest blog.

the 'blog-ogna' here is between the host's ears. did you know when a slice of 'blog-ogna' is balled up really tight it's about the side of a radish? it would fit. if you think hard; you'll get it.
