Good Enough for Government Work

Isn't it funny how The State, when dealing with its arch-nemesis SCRG, always refers to the "oddly named" South Carolinians for Responsible Government, or the "ironically named" South Carolinians for Responsible Government?

Apparently, to The State, the phrase "responsible government" is redundant.

Oops.

Idiots.

Bill, I go to Brads' Blog every now and then just to see what the Wicked Witches' flying monkeys think is interesting at the moment. They recently talked about the fact that something like one half of Karen Floyds' (Republican candidate for State Super of Education, staunch supporter of vouchers and education reform, and general all around good guy) campaign funding was coming from "insidious and nefarious" out-of-state interests. Brad Warthen and the other women on the editorial board at "thestatemulletwrapper" can never ever seem to give us any reasoned arguements as to exactly why we ought to be concerned about all this out of state funding...they resort immediately to frothing, screaming, arm-waving and cajoling to get South Carolinians (who frankly may not be paying a lot of attention during summer months) foamed up over what is or should be essentially a non-issue. It's like this: Although editors at "thestatemulletwrapper" will never admit it, this out of state funding is really a GOOD thing...it is a form of free speech, and it proves that people from outside our state care enough about our kids, who are perishing in the utterly corrupt and sheer failure that is our school system, to send resources to help reform-minded candidates who are trying to save those kids. Of course, these funds are to editors at "thestatemulletwrapper" as holy water is to a vampire...they can't stand it. Happily, there is nothing they can do about it but whine. I hope Karen Floyd gets elected this fall. And more power to SCRG! Fritz

Actually, The State is right on the money with SCRG. What is SCRG hiding? Fritz is probably on the staff at SCRG. SC does not need more carpetbaggers.

Nope, responsible government, as accepted by L' Etat is really an oxymoron, like responsible journalism. Naturally anyone expecting government to be responsible would be odd or have ironic expectations, akin to expecting Pravda on the Congaree to have an impartial position...

Responsible government is an oxymoron right now. But some people haven't given up on keeping the government accountable for its use of our dollars.
