News Flash: Brad Warthen is a Megalomaniac

Okay, this is getting out of control. In explaining why La Socialista has been waging jihad on Mark Sanford for the past three years or so, Brad Warthen actually whines that Sanford "[i]s not our boy."

Oh, for Pete's sake. Look, Brad, for the last time: Governor Sanford does not work for your editorial staff. He works for the people of the state. Notice the lack of italicization and capitalization. That means he works for the people of South Carolina, not your two-bit political rag.

Yes, Sanford is one of the first to not kow tow to the boys at The State.

Funny thing - I thought Knight Ridder was a biased bunch. With Brad's latest rant, these McClatchyites from California are even more liberal.

Did you see Brad the Plaid on ETV tonight? He was evidently supposed to be a moderator of sorts during the debate between Rex and Floyd...candidates for State Super of Ed, and he was as biased on TV as he is in the pages of "thestatemulletwrapper." His questions for Floyd were loaded and tortured...you could just see his dislike for her and her "voucher" scheme. When he turned to Rex it was as if he was addressing an old friend. Then too Brad had this whiny, and plaintive little demeanor. Altogether a sickening show of favortism and mind-already-made-up-ism typical of Warthen. Dave

I think the time has come that newspaper editors who endorse in elections should not be moderators of debates.

Brad was over the line.

How did Wrthen and "The State" get the opportunity, that should be looked at in depth. Sounds like a fix deal. Were competitive bids taken?

What's the matter? Angry because Brad wouldn't let Floyd squirm out of questions she was too shifty to answer? He was just trying to get the facts, something she apparently isn't ready to share.

The direct question was: "would you (Mrs. Floyd) consider and/or approve a plan which diverts public school money to private schools?" Mrs. Floyd answered it quite directly, I thought. She said clearly that if the panel of experts and advisors she convenes recommends that to her, she would do it. How much clearer must she be? Given that clarity, which facts is she failing to share, in your mind? By the way, I'm not angry about anything. I simply believe Brad is an oily little weasel and he certainly looked like it that night, along with his ETV bubba. What a squad of nerds. Dave

Dear Educator, when you and the rest of the education mafia that has produced one of the worst education systems in the nation at one of the highest costs can answer a few direct questions, then maybe you will have room to complain about someone else. Sorry to interrupt your shredding of documents at Dept of Ed. What is going to happen to all those sole source contracts you folks love to hand out once Karen is elected?

The ETV debates were much better when a true objective journalist-David Staton was there. Also, the pareticipation rate was higher. Brad is a loser, the funny part is The State is losing 10 subscriptions per day, what a dog!

Keep up the great work another 5 years of great internet reporting and the rain forests will be safe from rags such as The State.

I guess Colin Powell spoke too soon when he stated he did not get in fights with people that bought ink by the barrells. I think he should have added or that write in hyper-text mark up language. Kepp ir going, good work!
