Worst. Endorsement. Ever.

Have you ever in your life seen anything more incoherent, cowardly, and morally obtuse than La Socialista's endorsement of the gay marriage initiative?

I challenge anyone—no matter how educated, sophisticated, or intelligent—to come up with a principled (or non-principled) defense of this endorsement. Even a Frenchman would recognize this as utterly spineless.

By contrast, in response to this initiative, SC's LGBT community has given us one of the best political ads of the season.

I forgot, what was the position taken by "thestatemulletwrapper" on the marriage amendment? Wasn't it that we should vote "yes" to make it go away as an issue? I suppose that we can construe this to mean that "thestatemulletwrapper" sees no intrinsic value or good in traditional marriage. I reckon the only other alternative is that they do see that traditional marriage is good in the sight of God, good for the individuals who enter into it, and good for society in general, but are too afraid and shamelessly wimpy to declare it openly. Which is it Brad? I would really like to know. Dave

I can't help but chuckle at the Gonzales monument being located on Senate Street in Columbia a notorious "gay cruising" area, talk about irony.

The State newspaper is garbage and has been influenced primarility by the Shandonistas who have historically dominated the politics of the area. I think they actually believe being gay is in fashion, maybe they all will convert or stay gay, heck, at least they are lest apt to reproduce thus ridding the gene pool of their moral shortcomings.

What about Comrade Warthen's assault on Eckstrom in his editorial? When is he going to realize that no one cares about the van ride to Minnesota? People DO care that Richard Eckstrom has worked diligently to save them money and make the government run more smoothly. We are lucky to have him in office, and the voter's know it. I'm half expecting Cindi to write a frothing-at-the-mouth editorial about the moral flaws of our comptroller general. Word to the wise Brad...stop treating your readers like they're idiots.

So what editorial SC newspaper column do you like exactly?

No kidding...Eckstrom's good work deserves a little respect. I hope they have EMTs standing by when Karen Floyd wins the election. Brad and Cindi are both going to need care.

None of 'em Mike. Are there many that you like?

Rod, I don't know. I voted for Karen Floyd and I have had my fingers crossed for three days, but it looks to me like the "thestatemulletwrapper' and other public education status quo interests along with money from out of state may have carried the day...meaning that I think Rex might have actually this thing, if you can call a four hundred vote margin a "win." That's what I am waiting to see. Almost exactly half of the population of this state has expressed outrage and utter dissatisfaction with pub ed in its' present condition, and I think Brad and the other goons on the board will spin this as a huge win for "stay the course, nothing's broke" bureaucrats. In fact, you watch: Brad will eventually spin this vote and the Rex "win" as solid support for even more tax money to be thrown down the rat hole. It is only a matter of time. But when your baby is as ugly as public eduaction is, you gotta spin a win as much as possible no matter how thin the margin of victory was. Dave

actually won this thing

Good points Dave...Brad and Co. will try to make everyone forget that half a million people in South Carolina wanted a school choice supporter in office. Not a word from the State about the public schools in Spartanburg county sending out emails to teachers and staff to vote for Rex...much less about sending home pro rex propoganda with kids on their backpacks. No open mouthed outrage about that. After all, it isn't half as scandalous as a philanthropist from New York giving to improve the lot of kids in South Carolina.

the state has lost whatever shred of credibility it had in its attempt to say that Rex means there is a mandate for public schools.
