What, is Lee Bandy now Covering Sports?

How thoroughly backwards is La Socialista? Let's put it this way: There's an article in their sports section blaming the Gamecocks' defense for not scoring more.

Then again, Lee Bandy thinks that Mark Sanford holding as much as
a 23-point lead means the Guv's in trouble.

Which section has worse coverage? We report, you decide.

News Flash: Brad Warthen is a Megalomaniac

Okay, this is getting out of control. In explaining why La Socialista has been waging jihad on Mark Sanford for the past three years or so, Brad Warthen actually whines that Sanford "[i]s not our boy."

Oh, for Pete's sake. Look, Brad, for the last time: Governor Sanford does not work for your editorial staff. He works for the people of the state. Notice the lack of italicization and capitalization. That means he works for the people of South Carolina, not your two-bit political rag.

The Less They Write...

...the better they perform. We've been on the case of documenting poor "writing" from The State from the get-go.

But these latest clips filmed by Brad Warthen and posted on his blog—little editing, good questions—are pure gold.

If we could just get them to stop scrawling altogether and man the cameras for a sort of "Palmetto CSPAN," we'd be, well, golden.

P.S. - We're not saying Grady Patterson's old but who else would refer to Strom Thurmond as "that li'l whippersnapper."

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

Right after I praise Warren Bolton, he publishes two straight articles on utter irrelevancies.

Sunrise, Sunset

If it's Thursday, The State must be asking for the creation of a new bureaucracy.
